The Golden Rules for Cleaning Your Kitchen or Bathroom Safely

Cleaning Rules for Kitchens and Bathrooms - Kitchen and Bathroom Place Twyford

Follow These Golden Rules For Cleaning Your Bathroom or Kitchen Safely

  • Regular cleaning with plain clean hot water or mild soapy water only
  • No chemicals or abrasives (use of these may cause damage to chrome surfaces and could invalidate manufacturer’s product warranties in the event of a claim related to the surface defects)
  • Always remove residual water from all surfaces
  • Use a soft non-abrasive cloth for cleaning and a second clean dry microbire cloth to wipe dry

And In Slightly More Detail, Here Is An Overview Of The Recommended Care & Maintenance Guidelines For Bathrooms And Kitchens

  • DO NOT use abrasive or harsh cleaning products on any surfaces (NEVER use steel wool, scouring pads, cleaning wipes or cleaning products which contain bleach, vinegar, acid, essential oils, alkali or abrasives)
  • Clean glass, metal trims, brassware, mirrors and sanitary ware (including toilet seats) regularly with HOT WATER OR MILD SOAPY WATER ONLY (a mild hand soap is ideal). For brassware in particular, plain clean hot water is all that is needed for routine cleaning
  • Remove any residual water or condensation from surfaces after every use (applies to glass, metal, worktops, shower trays, mirrors, cabinet tops etc.)
  • Wipe all surfaces down with a non-abrasive soft cloth after every use. A microfibre cloth is ideal
  • Do not allow limescale to build up. This is particularly important in hard water areas
  • Metal surfaces and mirrors are vulnerable to chemicals. Harsh household cleaners, denture cleaners and hair dyes may cause damage to these surfaces and should not be used. Use of hairspray and aerosols on or near metal surfaces and mirrors should also be avoided.
  • Keep the room well ventilated
  • Take great care if you do choose to use harsh / strong cleaning fluids in your toilet bowl to avoid splashing the cleaner onto the toilet seat
  • Avoid use of essential oils.

This is not an exhaustive list. Please refer to the manufacturer’s guidelines for each individual product.

Happy Cleaning!
