The Brief
The owners of this home in Henley-on-Thames wanted to create a light and airy kitchen and living space for the whole family to enjoy.
The Design
This kitchen was part of a larger renovation project which saw the entire downstairs of our client’s home being remodeled. Lisa worked closely in collaboration with the architect and the builder to create a fantastic family kitchen, with different zones for cooking, eating and relaxing.
There is a squashy sofa for the family to relax on, and a dining table. Large bi-fold doors span the entire space and lead to the garden.
For the kitchen furniture our client opted for a shaker style door in a lovely soft cashmere colour with brushed stainless steel appliances throughout. A stunning Dekton worktop in a blend of warm grey and brown tones contrasts beautifully with the furniture. The warm and light look is completed with a tiled splash-back which has a subtle pearl shimmer effect.
The centerpiece of the kitchen is a large island with tall seating for casual meals and drinks. The size of the island gives ample space for chopping / food prep while interacting with family or friends sitting on the stools.
The kitchen has plenty of storage with both low and high-level cabinets. Lisa ensured that there is an appropriate drawer or cupboard for the crockery, pans, cutlery and small appliances, which enables the family to keep the worktops free of clutter.
LED under cabinet lighting was added under the wall cupboards to provide brighter lighting when using the hob and oven.
The Final Transformation
What The Client Thinks
